A local “teaching” theater, Theater 9/12, is providing actors and audiences alike a chance to experience performances they might not see otherwise.
FOR THE AUDIENCE…Each performance is attended by “donation only” tickets in Seattle’s “pay what you can” tradition every night! You can purchase these tickets through Brown Paper Tickets website.
FOR THE ACTORS…Theatre9/12 company members choose plays that challenge audiences through thought-provoking plays having relevant themes to today’s issues in various styles including contemporary, classic, musical, international, and original plays interpreting them for their universality and social, political and/or psychological relevancy.
The current play in production is THE EQUATION. This period “play of excavation” reveals a Depression Era physician and his wife who attempt to adopt the infant son of a Russian woman desperate to give her child a shot at the American Dream glittering impossibly beyond her grasp. It follows two different times periods while working backwards through time as some points. The two storylines collide at some point along the way!
Theater 9/12 is located at Trinity Parish Church, 609 8th Avenue
Performances are Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. (Feb. 7/8 & 14/15) and 2 p.m. on Saturday Feb. 8 & 15.
