If the early darkness of February leaves you looking for a little more sunshine, perhaps soaking up some art during one of the many art walks that occur around the city each month will help! The oldest and most well established art walk happens this Thursday, Feb. 6th in Pioneer Square from noon to 8 p.m.. Although there are quite a few galleries spattered around the square, there are a few spots that highlight emerging, innovative, and/or Northwest artists:
This triangular building on the corner of S. Washington St and 3rd Ave S. contains a maze of galleries that is always packed with people on First Thursday art walk where you will definitely find interesting art (and people) to check out!
Nearby the Kaplan Building, these two galleries also highlight Northwest artists.
These two galleries are a short walk from Kaplan and are closer to the outdoor art event in Occidental Park that occurs on First Thursday. Both highlight contemporary artists.
There is FREE PARKING for the event at participating garages. Just click the highlighted link for more details about which garages and where you can get a voucher.
